Sanorama is our first VirtualRehab distributor in Romania and have already installed two OnPremises systems in the Cluj Rehabilitation Hospital. We had a chat with Matilda Blaga, owner of Sanorama, to discuss the project, a little about Sanorama and their future plans.
Sanorama is the first VirtualRehab reseller in Romania. Could you tell us a little about your company?
MB- Sanorama was established in 2000 and draws from a long experience of the distribution of different types of medcial devices such as the ultrasound equipment from Esaote and Hitachi, extremity MRIs of Esaote and neurological equipment of EbNeuro. Currently, Sanorama is focused on the distribution of the Virtual Rehabilitation system of Virtualware, as well as high frequency ultrasound equipment of Taberna Pro Medicum and the ultrasound system of Hitachi Aloka from Japan.
Why did you choose to distribute VirtualRehab in Romania?
MB-We considered it a very promising system, a revolutionary solution in rehabilitation. Having a rather long experience with neurology departments we decided to find a reliable, validated system using the latest technology in rehabilitation. We also found the communication with Virtualware was very pleasant and efficient from our first contact.
The Rehabilitation Hospital in Cluj is the first installation of VirtualRehab in your country. What were the requirements of the Hospital that led to the project with VirtualRehab? Which kind of patients will they be treating there?
MB-The Rehabilitation Hospital in Cluj is our first client in Romania for the VirtualRehab system. The hospital has several departments (rehabilitation, neurology, orthopedy, cardiology, etc). We have a long relationship with their neurology department, who are very open to innovative technologies.
They saw VirtualRehab was very appropriate for their needs in rehabilitationfor patients with neuro-degenerative pathologies, as well as post-surgery and post trauma patients. The neurology department is very connected to the rehabilitation department, so both neurologists and therapists were very interested in the benefits of VirtualRehab. I also need to mention that the hospital is also a university clinic which is involved in medical training, so an instrument like VirtualRehab helps increase their the level of practical training.
The specialists from the Rehabilitation Hospital in Cluj are very satisfied with the VirtualRehab system (even if our experience is still new) and are eagerly waiting to collect the results with their patients.
Do you have any other future projects involving VirtualRehab?
MB-Yes, we do. We want to introduce VirtualRehab in other rehabilitation hospitals in Romania. Also, for 2015 Sanorama has decided to participate in the National Rehabilitation Conference which will take place in the city of Sibiu between the 23rd to 26th of September.
