VirtualRehab kicks off in Australia

VirtualRehab is now available in Australia through Neurotek, who have already had some interesting projects there. We spoke to Bev Quee, who is the Product Specialist at Neurotek and an Ocupational Therapist, about the company and their experience with VirtualRehab in Australia.

1. Could you tell us a little about your company and yourself?

Neurotek offers a specialised neurological focused product range and service from the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of innovative neuro technology equipment. We are excited about our product range and how it will change the face of rehabilitation. Products that lead us to greater independence and function, decrease manual handling, promote telerehabilitation, and encourage compliance, motivation and fun! Bev Quee (Occupational Therapist) is an experienced therapist has over 20 years experience in providing well researched, innovative technology, education and training to clinicians. I understand the many challenges that face clinicians and patients during rehabilitation and achieving motor recovery and independence. I value my relationship with clinicians and facilities and provide ongoing support and education to ensure confidence, knowledge and success

2. Why did you choose to distribute VirtualRehab in Australia?

VirtualRehab is a great compliment to our existing product range. In neuro rehab activities we need to maintain a patient’s interest and provide many options to keep them actively engaged and motivated in therapy. VirtualRehab provides this option. Together with estim and other modalities, we can create a multi sensory treatment program. I like VirtualRehab as they are easy to deal with and extremely receptive to clinical feedback and product development.

3.  Your first sales in Australia have been for telerehabilitation where patients can use VirtualRehab at home while their therapists can remotely set up their rehabilitation programs and monitor their progress. Do you think Australia is more open to telecare solutions like VirtualRehab than perhaps other countries?

Australia is geographically a large country. The option of having telecare solutions for patient rehab is very important. It allows for a much more efficient rehab program and the monitoring of patients in rural and remote areas.

4. Do you have any other future projects involving VirtualRehab?

We are showcasing the Virtual Rehab technology in all areas of rehab – Neuro, Paediatrics, Hand Rehab and Falls Prevention.
